Early Education Program

The goal of Emily's Early Learning Adventures is to provide a Christian based program, in a caring and structured environment, where young children can grow and thrive. It is a private program, which allows for smaller ratios, more direct attention on the children and their development, and the freedom to celebrate God. Students are provided with individualized lessons based on where they are on their educational path. Each area of development is important and students will get to experience activities in every area, every single day.

Is Emily's Early Learning Adventures a daycare?

Emily's Early Learning Adventures is an early education program. It is not your typical daycare. It focuses on guiding children through the developmental milestones of their younger years and helping them become preschool ready students with a curiosity for learning. We follow a daily schedule and a curriculm. Quarterly developmental screenings are completed and reviewed with the famiy. Referrals can be made to Green Hills AEA if concerns arise in any area of development.

So, if you're not a typical daycare, what hours do you operate?

Emily's Early Learning Adventures follows the CBCSD Early Childhood calendar and closings. The hours are from 7:30 am - 3:45 pm, with extended care available until 5:15 pm. (potential for slight flexibility)

Do you offer part-time or drop-in care?

No, I do not offer drop-ins or part-time care because our program is structured and builds upon what the students have been learning. Predictability is important for children's development.

However, my daughter and I do offer babysitting services on our days/times off, depending upon availability.

What ages does your program support?

Our program is best suited for ages 18 months through 4 years old.

What areas of development are you focusing on?

There are four key areas of development. Each area has a multitide of specific skills to be focused on, some of which are briefly decribed below. Each area will be explored and built upon every day.

* Cognitive: developing thinking skills, problem solving skills, play skills; to process information, reason, and understand

* Social and Emotional: developing awareness of others, interacting with others, form relationships with others; emotional regulation skills, self-confidence, self-advocacy

* Speech and Language: Receptive - what is able to understood by the child; Expressive - what the child is able to communicate with others

* Physical: Gross Motor Skills - Big muscle movements such as crawling, walking, running, jumping; Fine Motor Skills - Small muscle movements such as grasping toys, holding and using eating utensils, coloring, writing

What kind of space will the children have access to?

I run this program out of my home and it is my intention to continue this program long term. I transformed my main level into a safe and engaging environment for children. One bedroom has been turned into a play area and one bedroom into a motor/movement room. The living has been turned into a quiet reading area and the dining room has been turned into the art and eating area.

I have fire extinguishers, a de-choker, fire alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, safety gates, saftey steps, age appropriate furniture, a fence, and mats/mulch for climbing areas.
